For no apparent reason, the "element on" indicator light has stayed on despite everything else working as it should. Any ideas?

Could be either a lead to the light is grounded, or possibly the contacts inside the element switch are fused together.

Thanks. Is it something I could fix myself (knowing nothing from the start)? If the contacts of an element were fused, would the element itself stay hot? That's not happening.
