Post Removal of glass cooktop
Model Number: CCE3531W   Brand: Jenn-Air   Age: 1 - 5 years

Saw a couple of postings on the subject but couldn't access the reply instructions. I need assistance on how to remove the glass top (beyond taking the knobs and grammets off) from our cooktop stove. I read there's an adhesive tape underneath Not sure how to approach its removal correctly. Also, should I purchase replacement tape prior to getting started?

Hi danhair

Turn off the circuit breaker for the stove, remove the stove from the counter top and turn it around in any direction to let the stove rest on the counter top. Remove all screws around the burner box and careful lift up the glass top.

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air stove Model CCE3531W

Good luck.
Gene.

Thanks Gene. I was hoping for more details about how to remove the stove from the counter top. Do I approach that from the underneath inside the cabinet? If so how is it attached and at how many places?

Yes, you do have to approach from inside of the cabinet. Also, check how it was attached to the counter top. I've seen many times when people used a caulk or even a glue to seal a space between a glass top and a counter top. Mostly it depends on the installers qualification.

Gene.
