Cannot open cooktop
Model Number: XL44 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
Just moved into new apartment with old stove. I cannot get the cooktop to open, no matter what I try. I've found some owner manual documentation that seems to say that you just pull up on the front of it, but it won't budge. It feels as if it's locked somehow. You can pull up on the cooktop with enough force to lift the front of the oven off the floor. I tried to pry it up, but started to fear I might break something. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
