Robert, You may not have done anything wrong, start looking for a pinched or shorted wire in the harness or melted wires, that may have been the cause of the original clock going out. :( :( :(

Robert, You want to visually inspect the wires going to the control and make sure there are no damaged wires, especially at the control board. The Red wire should be attached to the E1 and E9 terminals of the board, and White wire should be on the N/E2 terminal You'll also need to check the Black wire(s) going to both the elements and at the E6 and E7 terminals on the control. If you don't find any visible damage, pinches or direct shorts, We'll need to get a multimeter and check for voltages and closed circuits to chassis ground. :) :) :)
