Post oven & broiler won't lite
Model Number: CGR3740ADL   Brand: Magic Chef   Age: 5 - 10 years

I'm not sure of the age of the stove, it was left in the huose I bought. I would like to know if there is any way to test the broiler & oven igniters. I don't mind buyong teh parts but I don't know if the igniters are bad or if the igniter module is bad. How can I test these components?

Hi Mike

The easiest way is to unplug the igniter (one at a time), turn the oven on and check for 120V coming to the igniter. If you see a proper power then the igniter has to be replaced.
If you do not see a proper power then check the wires and, if there is nothing wrong, replace the control board.

- The part number for the bake and the broil igniters AP205873

- The part number for the control board (aka a clock) AP4309072

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Magic Chef range Model CGR3740ADL

Good luck.
Gene.
