The oven temp. swings 40 degrees when operating.

The sensor is new.

Can the control be recalibrated?

The temperature can be calibrated (see the operators manual) but this just raises or lowers it. It will not solve a temperature swing.

If both the bake and broil elements are OK then probably the control board is shot.
I do not know if I would invest close to $300.00 into the older unit.
