Hi Gene,

Need further explanation on the definition of the F9 code - Door Latch. It says to check the door latch components. My stove door is locked. I tried turning the breaker off for a little over 2 minutes and turning it back on. That did not help. Do have any other advice on checking the door compenents? Thanks Mar

Hi Mar,

In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the range.

To unlock the door you can try to start the self clean as usual and then cancel it after 3 minutes. Sometime it works.

This came from CS Shepard. "
I have a Jenn-Air w156w wall oven at least 10 years old. According to the information on your website, I need part AP184967, the touchpad. However, in your picture of the part the plastic electronic ribbon is two-pronged. The one on my oven is one flat strip. Will this still work?"

My question is I have the same thing and have f-2 on the read out. DO I have to do what CS did and get this AP 184967 touch pad. I have a one flap strip also. Will this work for me too? Thanks, Fred

Interestingly before I bought a replacement I turned off the power and took the control off, just to see how easy it was. When the power is off for 5 minutes or so it does reset the error code. We've had it back twice, but not recently.

Hi Fred,

The "F2" means the oven control senses runaway temperature and it has nothing to do with the touch pad.

The cause of the problem could be the oven sensor, the oven sensor wire harness or the power relay board.

Open the control panel and measure the oven sensor resistance at the control board. It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.

If the reading is wrong do the same test at the oven sensor connection (where the sensor wires goes through the back panel).

If the reading is still wrong - replace the oven sensor.

If the reading is correct, check the wire harness and the connector itself (it's better to eliminate the plastic plug and hardwire the oven sensor).

If there is nothing wrong then the power relay board has to be replaced.

- The part number for the oven temperature sensor is AP204836

- The part number for the power relay board is AP3970864

Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air oven Model W156W

Hi Par,

Reseting power for a few minutes helps to eliminate about 15% of electronic control problems.

Hi Bruce,

Most likely the problem with your range is a bad Electronic Range Control (ERC) which has to be replaced.

- The part number for the ERC is AP367441

My range had the F1 code reading. I see where it could be the clock/touch pad. My question is, would it affect the way the range works. I can program at 350 degrees and it will not turn off, the temp continues to rise. If I put on 170 degrees it continues to rise, then the F1 code shows up on my display.

Thank you for any information you can provide me with.
