Push and hold the Clock button for about 5 seconds or until it beeps.

Default Error Code F20

The frigidaire error codes go up to F9. Do you have any idea what F20 means?

Default GE f2 and shutting off problem

Hi,

I have a JCBP40w0j2ww GE self-cleaning convection range. For a couple of months, I had been getting the F2 error quite frequently, especially when I would pre-heat the oven at 550F for about an hour. Then, I started to get the F2 pretty much anytime, even at low temps. In the last months, no more F2, the oven just shuts off anytime it feels like it.

Could just changing the temp sensor solve the problem or do I have to spend a lot more to change the whole control panel?

Also, how easy is it to do all of this myself? I've never done any electrical repair myself.

Thank you very much!
Patrice

Patrice,

The error code “F2” will be displayed along with a beeping sound if the ERC (Electronic Range Control) or “clock” senses a runaway heat condition during the “cook” or the “clean” modes. It could be caused by the oven temperature sensor, by the ERC or by the wire harness between the oven temperature sensor and the ERC.

The access to the oven temperature sensor plug and the wires is from the back only. You have to pull the range out of the wall. Disconnect the power and remove the rear cover. Check the resistance across the oven temperature sensor at the quick disconnect plug. It is supposed to be about 1100 Ohms at room temperature. If the resistance is incorrect, the oven temperature sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. If not, check all the wires from the oven temperature sensor to the ERC.

It is a good idea to eliminate the sensor quick disconnect plug and reconnect the sensor, using a high temperature porcelain wire nuts. Power up the range and check how the oven works.

If it's not the sensor and/or wires, replace the ERC.

- The oven sensor Part number: AP3192829

Part number: AP3192829

- The ERC Part number: AP3772904

Part number: AP3772904

- The porcelain wire nuts Part number: AP3440631

Part number: AP3440631

If you know how to handle a simple tools, this job is not too difficult to do it yourself and you can save a big $$$.
