I have a kitchen aid oven that has a touchpad for the oven and dials control for the cooktop, while cleaning with a wet sponge i rub around the control dials for the cooktop I seem to put some side pressure on one dial and immediately i saw a flash of light under the control display which i am assuming it was the control board or control panel shorting out, The whole panel now is dead. Is their a fuse to protect this board, and if so how do i change it, the other question is if the board was fried would it also fry the cook top dials that control the temp of the cooktop burner (electric oven) IF possible please give me detailed instructions how i might go about changing this control board.

You would most likely have to change out the whole board. I don't have the board in front of me, so I don't know if there is a fuse. But, with the flash of light, I would assume that it is more then a fuse. I looked at the picture, and it does not give help on replacement. You could have some screws on the bottom of the control panel, that will come loose, to remove the whole control panel. Of course, before you attempt this, kill the power to the stove. The part # for the board is 3191107. Tom
