I have a remote blower vent hood, and the fan suddenly stopped working. I took off the switch, cleaned 10 years of GUNK off the inside of that panel, and looked for a new switch. (btw I am shocked at how much that part cost - it's a SWITCH for gosh sakes!) The switch now works, fan comes on - but it's not variable speed. Why is that? The switch turns on, and turns, but that turning did not vary the speed.

This switch has to be replaced. There is no way to fix it. - The part number for the speed switch is AP2831861Gene.

Hi,
I have the same problem you are having now. However, my situation is even worth than you are, since I could not open the hood, therefore I could not reach the switch yet. Could you tell me how do you de-assambly the hood. Thanks in advance.
