Default Whirlpool Double Wall oven
Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

I recently used the self-clean option on my top oven and after the cycle was complete, I no longer got any heat from either element. You wouldn't know it since the controls and fans seem to operate, it's just that the oven doesn't get hot. The bottom oven, which i didn't self-clean, is working fine. I see others have a similiar problem after using the self-clean option. Does this make sense? Are there 2 thermal fuses per oven?

Any help would be appreciated! I don't think this is something I may be able to fix myself.

Thanks!

Cindy

Hi Cindy

Most likely the problem with your oven is a blown thermal cut off due to very high temperature during the self clean. In order to replace the part, the oven has to be removed from the cabinet.
If you are ready to do it yourself, I need you to post the complete model number of the oven. You can find it on the right side of the upper oven door frame.

Gene.

Thanks Gene for the prompt response! I have seen a few problems with this oven following self clean. I am not going to fix it myself, unfortunately will have to call someone in to do it. Glad to understand the problem however was not by me touching something.
