Recently a mouse decided to store some food in the insulation around the bottom heating element pan in the oven. I've cleaned out the affected area, and now I need to replace the insulation. The OEM part appears to be a full insulating blanket that surrounds the oven, but I only need about 1 linear foot. The remaining insulation is intact and from the looks of things, has not degraded in any way. Is there any way I can just replace the insulation in the affected area and avoid replacing the entire insulating blanket, and taking the entire oven apart in the process? Are there generic insulating material that I can use, or do I need to get the OEM part?
