Our oven was working fine until a couple of weeks ago when it started to work sometimes and not others. Recently it stopped baking altogether and will only now broil. I took a look at the oven and the bottom heating element turns on (lights up) but the oven does not heat up to cooking temp.

My wife also reports that the broiling function only cooks on one side of the oven. I took a look at the broiling burner and it looks to my untrained eyes to work fine...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: Oh yeah, it is a gas oven. :)

Damunzy,

Based on your post and picture,

You have a weak bake burner igniter,

Part number: AP4041245
Part number: AP4041245

Just remember to unplug the power cord, or turn off the power to the range before you start the repair.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
