If you can help, my oven decided to quit last week and Im at a lost of what to do since my trusted repairman died the week before. The oven will not come one yet when I press the display button it make sounds. This is an electric double oven made by Whirlpool. I have went outside and checked the fuses and they appear to be ok. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Tameka,

Your oven has a clock display, and beeps when the buttons are pressed, but the display does not change, and you never had a "F" code in the display(F1, F3, F8,etc.) but everthing else works, is that correct ?

If that's the case, you most likely have a bad oven control board.

We'd be happy to walk you through the repair, if you'd like.

That sounds like a plan Joe but would it make a difference if the display does not show either? The display does not show anything (like the temperature, time, etc...) and makes the noise when pressing various buttons. Do you still think it's the same problem? Thank you so much for your help as well. It's greatly appreciated.

Tameka,

I'm still 98 % sure, you'll need the control board, based on your post description, all the buttons work and beep, but no display or program.

There's a slight possibiliy that the control board transformer, may have a weak low voltage circuit, but we'd need access to a multi meter to varify that.

Here are the service manual instructions for accessing and replacing the control board(so you'll know what to expect).

REMOVING THE THERMAL FUSE, THE OVEN CONTROL/
DISPLAY BOARDS, AND THE TOUCH PANEL ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the electrical power to the
double oven.
2. Open the lower oven door.
3. Remove the bottom screw from each of
the two side trim pieces.
4. To remove the side trim, pull the bottom
out approximately 2˝, and slide the top
down to free it from the control panel.
CAUTION:
When you work on the double
oven, be careful when handling the sheet metal
parts. Sharp edges may be present, and you
can cut yourself if you are not careful.

6. To remove the oven control panel, pull it
out at the bottom, and lift and unhook it
from the oven cabinet support at the top.
7. Disconnect the wire connectors from the
control board and set the panel face down
on a padded surface to protect the finish.

8.
To remove the thermal fuse, disconnect

it from the main harness connector.

9.
To remove the oven control/display
boards:

a) Remove the mounting screws.
b) Lift the ends of the locking arm and
disconnect the ribbon cable from its
connector.

NOTE: The control and display boards are
designed to be replaced as an assembly.
