Model Number: 790 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a Kenmore stove/ oven that is almost 3 years old. This came in my house that was brand new when we bought it. Almost a year ago one of my large stove eyes would start automatically switching to high when I was cooking on any level. It would then get stuck on high even when I would turn it off. Now, both of my large stove eyes are doing this and even when I unplug the entire unit and plug it back in it is still on the highest setting there is. Kenmore says "sorry about your luck since it's over a year old", which makes me completely livid and I will never but a thing from them again. They will also not even help us try to troubleshoot the problem because they want to send someone out to fix it and charge us an arm and a leg. Does anyone know what this issue could be? My husband's pretty handy and can probably fix it himself if we can figure out what it is. Thanks in advance for the help. And P.S. don't buy Kenmore!

You more than likely have bad infinite switches. We can be more helpful and informative, with a proper model number. Your husband can probably do the repair, without much effort, can he get a multi meter for testing purposes ? We'll look for your response, so we can get your stove up and going.
