I am renovating my kitchen and gave away all my old appliances except the Jenn Air range exhaust fan which I intend to re use. the problem is though it worked when I took it out two months ago, I can't tell whether it is 120V or 220V. There is no nameplate and the plug for it is shaped differently than a straight 120V looks like l.- with the two prongs at 90 deg to each other.
I tried applying 120V and 220V to the prongs, but nothing!
Any ideas?
thanks

Hison,

Yes,

The D/D exhaust fan, is a 120 VAC, 60 cycle, single speed motor.

You did use the correct terminals to attempt to run the motor.

Are you sure you had your electrical connections down in the slots far enough ?

Hopefully, you did not damaged the windings, when you applied the 220 VAC to the motor.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
