My bake igniter will not start the oven all the time. It will lock out. I took off the flame spreader and saw over four attempts not one spark. I will light the oven on broil and switch it to bake when it is hot and the igniter seems to work then throughout the cycle.

I found a website that has a manual for whirpool direct spark ignition DSI repair http://appliancehelp.hypermart.net/DSI_manual.pdf. I noticed they mention a ground wire kit. I peaked in mine and the kit has not been installed. I also noticed other threads that have recommended switching out the bake igniter. How can I test it with a basic multimeter? I don't have the amp clamp.

please help,
