Model Number: jgp328wec1ww Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
When triing to ignite cooktop, igniter sparks but gas takes at least 1 min. to start flowing. Then it works ok. Problem is with all burners. Could this be a bad gas pressure regulator or safety valves.

Hi Jeff
There are a couple things which are very important for the proper ignition: the burner and the igniter have to be clean and dry, the burner head should be placed properly on the burner base. To clean the igniters I would recommend to use a rubbing alcohol and to clean the burner you can use a soft metal brush. Inspect all igniters and if you found the ceramic part of the igniter cracked, replace the igniter. - The part number for the new igniter AP3191250 - Here are the break down diagrams for the GE cook top Model JGP328WEC1WW Good luck. Gene.
