Huge ball of lightning struck near my house. Sump pump quit. Oven quit. Either or neither my be a result of surge. Maybe a coincidence. Anyway, not knowing the oven wasn't working, I hit bake and preset first. After a few minutes I increased to 500 deg. to cook pizza. Didn't pay any attention to it. After 10 minutes or so I went to use gas burners and no ignitor. All power was off. Blew circuit breaker. Reset, turned oven on again. Temp would only go to 260, and it took a while. Tried broiler. Only would get partial heat. Neither element would give out normal heat. Baking element is only 2 months old. Broiling element is oringinal and is 2 years old. My question is, can an element be bad if it does produce heat, although not maximum heat? How about thermostat? Thanks for any help.

The very first thing I would check is the power. Sounds like you don't have 240volts to the oven, could be a bad breaker. Check the oven where the power cord attaches for a bad connection. Check the outlet with a meter for 240 volts
