Default Thermador Wall Oven - self clean not working
Model Number: SCD?   Brand: Thermador   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
My nearly 10 year old Thermador Wall oven is having issues again with the control panel. I have had the control panel replaced three times (first time was under warranty) because it dimmed over time or the touch pad was not functioning properly. I had the control in the panel replaced last year and just went to clean my oven and the self clean feature does not function. It lights up "self clean" but nothing happens. Is this another problem with the control panel?

I am unable to locate the model number for my oven on the oven itself. Anyone know where it is?

The data tag is located in the vents to the left or right of the latch arm of the upper oven.

What happens after you set the time? Does the door lock, or does the fan run?

Wow, would have never thought to look there...it's SC301TP.

After I set the time, the door does not lock but the fan runs.

The oven has to latch before the unit can heat up in the clean cycle.

If you would like to diagnose it yourself, you would need to slide the oven forward about 10" so you can remove the black access cover on top of the oven.

Once the top is removed you'll have access to the relay board. One the front left corner of the relay board you'll find a terminal labeled, "DRLK". This terminal is where the 120vac which runs that latch leaves the board. If you're comfortable with working with electricity you can measure for 120vac on this terminal when you start a self clean cycle. If there is no power there the board is the problem. If the power is there the latch is bad. You can also jump 120v to that wire to see if the latch runs. To do this, you'll need to touch the wire on the DRLK to a on one of the terminals labeled L2; be careful not to electrocute yourself if you decide to do this. Obviously, if the latch runs it's good. If not, the it's bad.

Part numbers:
Relay Board: 492069
I'm assuming one of the parts you've had installed was the 492067 display kit. If so, this is the relay board from that kit. If you find that this kit has yet to be installed it will need to be ordered instead of the 492069. The reason is that the kit relay board from the kit and the display which is not sold in this kit are not compatible.

Lock: 489102
This is also a redesigned part (not because of motor issues), and rather than having two switches it will have three. There may be a new wiring diagram with the new part, but I've found that most do not. If you end up ordering the latch and need help with the wiring let me know and I'll tell you how to wire it.

Good Luck.
