Purchased the oven used and have now discovered the door will not close tightly. After closing it eases open to the light switch trigger spot. Any suggestions? Thanks.

All manuals are written for a few similar models and the number you posted looks like the part number for the manual itself.

Gene Does JJW9530D look better? My daughter and a Sears guy had a heck of a time trying to get a model number, and the reference you sent only covers free standing oven/range combos. The door seems to respond to tweaking the hinges but the seal still isn't very good. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

According to the Technical bulletin issued by Maytag in regards of this problem the solution is to order and install the kit Part number: AP4010213

which consists of the door hinges, hinge receivers and door liner.

We have this same model in a townhome that we used to live in and now rent out. It was fine at first, but then wouldn't close all the way for our renters. We had a Maytag repair man out who replaced the hinges, but that didn't change anything. Then, he showed me how to "fix it" - he took two screwdrivers and put them on either side, handle down in between the door and the oven, just above the hinges. He then pushed it closed and applied gentle pressure when it met resistance from the handles in the way. So, I'm guessing that he was bending something in the door or frame? Anyway it worked... for a while. Every 6-12 months I get a call about this issue and go out and do it again, and it works for a while.
I would love a "real" fix to this issue. I've been doing some reading at various forums and some say that it is just the brackets in the oven that have been beefed up since the original, that they should be replaced with the hinges. This is the only place I've heard of this kit that includes the door liner. Has something changed in the design of the door liner? Or are they assuming that it has been bent as the a way of dealing with the issue before? I'll gladly get it if that's what it takes. Just want to know what and why I'm replacing. Our local Dey Appliance Parts store didn't show that kit or part number, just the individual parts, so I'm double checking.

One more note. Not sure if it matters, but mine is the the one with the microwave on top and the convection oven on the bottom. Part number is JMW9530DAB. Can you verify if it is the same repair kit? Thanks again!

The above listed kit was designed by the manufacturer to correct this well known problem after some researches made by Jenn Air engineers. The Service bulletin is attached to the reply. I don't know how Boney ended up fixing his oven because he never posted it.

The model number you posted makes a big difference because it is not listed in this Service bulletin.

Very likely the problem is a bad or dislodged hinge receptacles (#8 on the diagram).
