I apologize in advance if this question has already been and/or answered. I own a GE Gas Range (Model JGBP26Gen4) that is approx 16 years old. The range has never given me any complaints until now. My problem is this:

I turn the oven on to bake at a given temperature (let's say 450 degrees). After about 7-8 minutes, the oven beeps signifying that it has reached operating temperature. However, using two separate oven thermometers, the actual temperature of the oven is only 350 degrees. I've seen on various posting sites that a faulty temperature sensor could be the culprit so I disconnected the sensor and measured the resistance. It read 1092 ohms which, according to experts, is the correct resistance at room temperature.

Does anyone know what could be causing the problem?
