My ignitor glows but gas valve does not open. I am reading 2.57 amps through the ignitor but not sure what it takes to open gas valve. How can I check the gas valve?

Bill, a proper operating glow bar igniter should draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps, and produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC at the bake valve terminals,if everything is proper, no loose wires etc.

At this point, you've got a weak igniter,
