We have a GE Profile Double Electric Oven. The wife used the self clean on the upper oven and oven is clean now. However, we went to use it today and it doesn't heat. The electronic touchpad works fine, if you touch the "Bake" and then "Start" buttons, it acts just like it would when it worked properly, however this time it never heats up. Help!

Self clean = self destruct!

Never use the self clean function. LOL

It just gets too hot!

It takes out boards and thermal fuses!

You are going to want to call a technician in your area on this.

And, you can buy some "non toxic" oven cleaner at the Dollar store. (wink)

Elmo, there is a limit switch. By the picture it is hard to tell exactly where it is. It looks like it is behind the control panel. If you remove the control panel, you will be looking for either a small round piece the size of time, or sometimes it could be about an inch and a half long, and a half inch wide. Once you find it, take the 2 wires off of it, and put their terminal ends together, and put some black tape around it, to hold the ends together, and to completly cover the terminals, so they don't hit any metal. Then kick the power back on, and see if it works. If so, DO NOT RUN the oven, with the saftey out. If you have an ohm meter, you can see if there is any continuity. If not it is bad. If so it is good. By the way if the clock is bad, the part # is WB27K5318. It is about $225 bucks. So, when then Great GE Repairmen comes out, and tells you the repair is going to be $500 bucks, you can send him to the door running!!! Oh by the way, the Great GE Corporation, changed your model # to JKP45WW2WW. Incase, you need parts. Tom ********************************************

Thank you for all the information in your post. I have pulled the display and have found the two limit switches. As soon as I find my ohmmeter I will pull them and test. Again, thank you very much for the response.
