gas not working

gas not working

Model Number: jgrs14gep2bg Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years

my oven is not working. when I go to turn it on I see 3 dashes where the temperature is then it will go to 100 degrees and thats it. the igniter looks good but doesnt heat up. the gas does not come on or at least I cant hear or smell it. I checked the tepurature probe and it seems to be working (checked with lighter).

I have a reasonable suspicion that you have a bad ignitor.

You can check this if you have a meter. Just pull the connector and hook the leads to the power supply. Turn the oven on and see if you have 110 volts.

If voltage is present ...replace the ignitor.
