We have the Maytag precision touch control 800 electric smoothtop range. When making dinner tonight the oven was set on bake at 350 it took 2 hours and only made it to 250, the stove part works just fine, I'm cleaning it right now and it seems to working just fine. please help

Your model number seems to be missing a couple digits.

Are you saying that this only happened the one time?
If that is the case then it will be very difficult to troubleshoot.
It could be a bad connection in the unit or a bad control board.

Did the stove come ready or did it stay in preheat?

Here is what I want you to do. I want you to turn the oven on to bake, and then see if the bake element, which is the bottom one, glows red hot. If not, the element is the problem. Or, a burn't wire on the element. If you are going to pull the element out, be sure to unplug the oven. If the element does come on, we have a temperature problem, which will either be the oven sensor, or the electronic control board. I cant see the bottom element it is covered by a plate. Do i need to take the plate off first? I cleaned it last night and it cleaned just fine. I reset the breaker this morning and it has been set to 350 and after 30 mins it is still only to 150. One of the other guys said that the model number is missing some numbers I checked again and the number i gave is the only number that is on the oven.

Thanks for all your help. I found it was the heating element. It was broken into a million pieces. Ordered the part form this website and they were great. thanks again
