I just replaced a harness on a JGP 328 GE cooktop which fixed a continuous sparking problem, Additionally I replaced a igniter on a burner that hadn't sparked for years which hasn't solved the problem. When I clase the gap to the burner plate with a screw driver I get a weak spark. If I pull the igniter up and hold it with pliers it throws a long spark to the plate. Also if you get the wire end near the plate it throws a long spark out of that end.I assumed the white part was a insulator but I got a jolt just touching it. Both the old and new igniters act the same. Need help.
