Oven will go off when the roasting is in progress. The oven pilot light remains lighted. There is a safety valve with a reset button. Pushing this button sometimes works and oven will light. At other times, pushing the button has no effect at all, until much later (an hour) when the oven will again light. The oven has gone off this way twice in the last two months. Right now it is working, but from past experience it will go off again just when we least expect it.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
