Default Oven keeps heating
Model Number: Part#8522379   Brand: Roper   Age: 1 - 5 years

Roper range/oven given to us, seems to be working fine, then issues 2 error codes out of the blue - F3 and E2 (i think), realized the oven is heating up even though we did not turn it on. Any thoughts out there? Thanks
Rose

Hi rowilson

In order to provide you with the most accurate information I need the complete model number of the range. You can fins it on the oven door frame or on the frame behind the bottom drawer. The model number you provided is incorrect.

Gene.

Hi Rose

The problem with your oven caused by the shorted "Bake" relay on the Electronic Range Control (ERC). To fix it the ERC has to be replaced.

Also check the resistance on the oven temperature sensor. At the room temperature it suppose to be about 1100 Ohms. If the reading is different the oven temperature sensor has to be replaced too.

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Roper range Model FES330KQ0

- The part number for the new black ERC AP2989925

- The part number for the new white ERC AP3085712

- The part number for the new oven temperature sensor AP3081560

Good luck.
Gene.

Thanks for all your help. in the meantime, is there anyway to just disconnect the oven part so that the stovetop can be used? Thanks

Hi Rose

Yes, you can do it. Remove the power from the range, open the control panel and disconnect wires from the Bake and Broil terminals on the control board. Remember which wire were goes. Insulate the wires. Assemble the control panel back and restore the power.

Good luck.
Gene.
