Our GE oven will not maintain temperature. We had similar issues last summer and I replaced the thermostat knob unit and sensor, which seemed to correct the problem. But now it's back. Oven will usually heat up to the desired temp, but then falls back to around 200 according to a separate oven thermometer. The wife is tired of trying to bake with such wide temp swings (picky picky! :D ), so I'm trying to determine if it's the thermostat/sensor again, or something else. Could it be the igniter failing to restart the burner as needed to maintain temp?

For the sake of anyone who finds this post searching about a similar problem, I went ahead and replaced the igniter and all appears to be working again.

Quite an easy and straightforward job, with the exception of trying to hover over/around the open oven door...
