oven will not light

Model Number: sf325pegq Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years

My whirlpool accubake super capacity 465 oven has a problem lighting. Intitially the problem was intermittent. Now about the only way it will light is if I open the broiler drawer and slam it a few times in anger. This usually will get it to light. The igniter seems to glow brightly every time, but no flames. Thanks for any suggestions.

Replace the ignitor, it probably has a hairline crack in it not allowing it to actually get hot enough to light. Ignter, oven
