Model Number: mrc305pvt00 Brand: Whirlpool Age: Less than 1 year
I bought this product from a scratch & dent place(big mistake). When I went to put trim pieces on they didn't fit so I removed the trim panel and the control panel assy. The switch membrane was taped to the back of the control assy. However it looks like there is a track in the support piece behind it where the membrane would go. However, the membrane I have is too tall to slide in the track. So I am confused. Should the membrane be taped to the back of the control assy. or should it slide in the track and if it goes in the track how do I get the right one to fit. The one I have now is 4 9/16" high and it is about 1/8" too big.
Thanks. Bruce Ads By Google Related Models |

Bruce,
The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it please. Is it American model? Gene.

Bruce,
Unfortunately I can not find the service manual for this model. I do not think the membrane switch should be taped to the control assembly. Does it have any kind of mounting brackets or screws? I could not find any pictures of these parts as well. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL RMC305PVT00 30`` BUILT-IN ELECTRIC COMBO SENSOR/SC | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Yes. The support piece behind the membrane has a bottom and top track which looks like the membrane should slide in but it is an 1/8" too small for the membrane I have. See my original post. So I wonder if there was a revision to the membrane size and I need a compatible membrane. How would I know if I ordered another one that it would be the proper size.

Let start it over. I'm assuming the original problem was with the oven installation into the cabinet. Why did you raise the question about the control panel? Have you connected the oven to the electricity? If you had, did it work? If it did not what was the problem? Gene.
