Viking igniter not even heating

Model Number: gas 36 inch Brand: -other- Age: 5 - 10 years

I replaced my over igniters a few times now, but this last time when i replaced it is seemed fine and everything was working fine. But after a few weeks it will not even glow. Can they have a complete failure on a new one? Normally it always was just weak and i would replace it. Could of i hooked it up wrong? there are only two wires. Is is possible to hook it up backwards? It did work for a week or two, but know does not even glow on the one i replaced. Other thoughts?
