Been reading the posts here. My gas stove is fluctuating wildly (over 100 degrees both ways). Checked the sensor with my ohm meter and it is reading 1076, so believe this means it's fine. From the posts, I think I need a control panel (At approximately $200). Make sense to order this and go for it? Am I missing anything else to check?

Thanks. Jan

Jan, That is a good reading on the sensor. I would have to agree with you, since the flucuation goes both ways the control board is bad. The part # is5701M426-60. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts

ughh. replaced the control board. seemed to be okay, but tonight the temp dropped from setting (350) to 200 degrees. Will try one last diagnosis before tossing it out.

Here's the latest when setting the oven temperature.
Sometimes panel shows pre-heating but isn't even coming on (no gas flow at all).
Sometimes it comes on, indicates 350 degrees when it's actually 200ish.
I'm hesitant to buy any more parts.

Can someone help me with some basic diagnostic steps (again) before I go buy a new oven?

Thanks.

There are onlt 2 things in the oven, that dictate the temp. One is the control board, and the other is the sensor. There is nothing left but the sensor to replace. Sometimes it is not cut and dry. Tom
