My 2 year old maytag oven would not heat properly this am. I had set it to heat up while we were sleeping, expecting it to be at the right temp when I woke up. But after an hour and a ruined batch of muffins, it was still only 200 degrees. I turned off the delay bake function and it still would not heat up properly. Also, the oven thermometer was not even registering 150. Is this the element that needs replacing? I am not at home to check, but I have a similar unit to the model # listed above. It has a 5 burner cooktop, and a oven rack system that allows you to take out 1/2 of the upper rack for cooking large items.

I also have a 2 1/2 year old Maytag with the same problem. I removed the bottom plate and found the element split in two. I replaced the element and still the oven will not heat up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should replace next?
