I was advised to replace the igniter because of a burner problem with my oven - that helped but did not completely fix the problem. It does not seem to be keeping the temp consistently right. Would this be the temp. sensor ? We hear a high pitched noise when we turn on the oven , would this be the igniter making this barely audible but consistant noise.

The noise is most likely coming from the gas valve.
But yes, the temp sensor is probably the problem sith maintaining the temperature.
