I have a Kenmore range with electric igniters. The burner igniters will start firing when the oven is on though sometimes the igniters will just start firing for no reason (burners are off). The oven safety valve (Sears Part # WB19K0013) was replaced by the previous owner. The previous owner failed to properly tighten the gas line at the safety valve but he did correctly connect the wiring. Tightening the gas line lessened the frequency of the burner igniters firing but did complete fix the problem. I have no idea why a gas leak would cause the igniters to fire continously but it seemed that as the oven warmed up the igniters would fire less and less and finally stop firing when the oven reached temperature. The range sits on our patio and we use the oven primarily during the summer months to avoid heating the kitchen. As I stated at the beginning sometimes the burner igniters will just start firing when the range is not in use (neither burners nor oven).
