Stove works, not the oven.
Model Number: 790.71106893 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
OK, so, I have an older Kenmore Gas Range. Recently when I would turn on the oven and the element would light the gas one time. When it would reach it's temperature to kick back on it would not do so with out hitting the safety valve with an object such as a hammer or stick, lightly of course. So, I bought a new safety valve and now the element glows but it will not light.

You have to measure the current drawn by the igniter. If the reading is 3.2 amps or less, replace the igniter.
- The oven igniter Part number: AP2150412 Gene.
