Hi,
I need some help in repairing my double oven. The lower oven works fine, it holds whatever temperature I set it to. The upper oven is a different story, it will not hold any temperature I set. It varies quite a bit, usually -35 degrees or so. I just replaced the sensor tonight on the upper oven. it still varies from -35 degrees up to the set temp. Any help would be appreciated.

regards

Sorry I have some follow up infor.

I forgot to note that there are no error codes displayed. I can set the temperature to 350 it may take 20 minutes or more to reach it. That’s if it does, then it will drop to 315 or less, cycle to heat but not reach the set temperature. This will happen with any temperature I set. The broil setting works fine, I can vary the temperature and it holds like a charm. As I reported the bottom works fine.

Thanks again,
ed

Hi Ed,

Try to calibrate the oven temperature as described in the Owner manual(page 7). Do it for 5°F at a time. If it would not help then replace the control board.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool oven Model RBD245PDB6

Gene,

Thanks, I will try the temperature calibration route. Hopefully that will work, I am not looking forward to spending $$ on a control board.

thanks for the link to the parts.
