Smile Kenmore electric glass top range/oven/stove Control Panel (Keypad)
Model Number: 790.94683301   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

The Control Panel does not work & is completly blank, the 4 electric burners do work, there is power (220 volts), temperature probe reads about 500 ohms, both bake/broil elements ohm out ok but do not come on, there is also power to the control board. What part would be needed?

Your oven sensor seems low, it should be about 1000 ohms at room temperature.
This is a negative coefficient device so a low resistance on the sensor will cause the oven to overheat and this may have fried your board.
Here is a good site with info
http://www.applianceaid.com/elecrange.html
Unplug it and see if the control comes on. This is a long shot as it should not affect power to the control board.

Is the oven light and stove top indicators working.
If yes then this tells you that you are getting 120 volts that is requored to run the control board.
If not then you have lost Neutral for some reason.

Have you tried unplugging the unit for about 10 minutes and seeing if it will reset. I sort of assumed you have doe this as you have been checking resistances but thought I should ask just in case.

If you do not have a wiring diagram there is one at the Sears Parts Direct site.
I would check the wires that supply 120 to the control board are OK.
If yes then your board is probably shot.
Check that they have not put a thermal fuse in one of these wires and not bothered updating the parts info.

I could not find your unit at AppliancePartsPros but they probably do sell parts for ths unit, give them a call.

After you do the above checks you may want to order from them as they will allow you to return the board if it does not fix your problem.
See their return policy.

Default Neither Bake or Broil will heat. Stove top works fine

I also have a Kenmore smooth top stove. Neither bake or broil elements will heat up. I checked the connections on the back. Seems odd but when I push the "bake" button on the front of the stove, I get voltage in both bake & broil elements. Shouldn't I get voltage in just the "bake" element? Same with when I press the "Broil" button, I get voltage in both bake & broil elements, but neither will get hot?

Unhappy Kenmore Oven "Clock Control Board" what cased it to fail?

Stove - Kenmore smooth top - Model: 790.95680301. Serial: VF3307774. Neither bake or broil elements will heat up. I replaced both elements and still no heat. Checked the back connections and get no voltage at either element connection. I removed the "clock control board" a $160 part. I appears that it "fried" as I see black soot and burn smell in it. The clock and other setting still function. Can you tell me what caused this? I would hate to spend $160 on a new board, install it and have it burn out again. Thanks

Please start your own thread using Post New Topic at the start of this forum section.
You have a different model and a different problem than "singebret" so adding to their post (Hijacking) just confuses things.
