Hello:
I have a Frigidaire Gallery oven/range Model GLGFS66ABB. From reading this forum, I believe I need a new oven igniter. When I start the oven, the igniter glows and gets quite bright; however, it can take from 10-30 minutes to get a flame. There is no gas smell. If I monitor it closely, eventually I will hear the flow of gas and the flame starts to burn immediately. Am I correct that a new igniter should solve this problem? Can the new igniter be installed from the inside or will I need to pull the oven out and connect from the rear?
Many thanks!

The ignitor sounds like the problem, part # AP2150412. The best way on your model appears to be from the rear for thewiring and remove the bottom plates in the oven for the rest.
Here's the breakdown of your oven

Thanks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to pull it out but that'd be too easy

I have never had to pull out to replace an ignitor you can cut the wires and wire nut it and leave the connector hooked up

I've read that the igniters come with ceramic nuts and you can sometimes cut the wires inside and connect the new part. I also read one post that said the existing wires weren't long enough inside. Don't remember which model oven that was.
I appreciate everyone's help!

Some of them do come with the ceramic nuts. But personally if they come with the plug it's better to do it that way as opposed to the short cut way.

You're funny V2K04. Just tryingn to be cautious, don't want anyones house to burn up or anything. that happens often enough from dryers not being cleaned completely each year.
