After oven preheats, it does not relight just sits there. But not always, it sometimes does what it is supposed to do. I have replaced the thermostat and ignitor. Seems like turning on a burner on top helps????

Hoof,

Did you ever have an "F" code in the display ?

Did you recently put your range in a "self Clean " mode ?

Does your broil burner/igniter work, properly ?

I'm thinking a few possibilities,

1) In some cases, after a self clean cycle, the oven temp sensor becomes
eratic ?

Part number: AP4009456
Part number: AP4009456

2) A loose wire connection, between the igniter and safety / bake valve, or
from the safety / bake valve to the terminal block.

3) A possible intermittent switch in the safety valve itself.

Part number: AP4098213
Part number: AP4098213

I don't see why turning a top burner valve on would assist the oven burner in it's ignition procedure,(two separate circuits/components) other than the fact that both need a neutral and or path to ground to complete the circuit,

That's why I reccomend you check the connections / wires to the bake igniter, the bake valve, and back to the neutral leg of the terminal block, first.

Good Luck.
:) :) :)

Thanks for the response. I checked all the electrical connections. They seem fine. The broiler works just fine. The bake {lower} ignitor lights up red hot, but it seems like for whatever reason the gas is not kicking on ????? Thanks

Hoof,

We need to go farther,

Even a new igniter could be weak, out the box.

Do you have access to a multi meter and / or clamp on ammeter ?

Part number: AP3873826
Part number: AP3873826

You'll need to check the voltage to the igniter, from the control board.

*** These are live voltage tests, Be Careful ***
*** Unplug power cord, between tests ***

Disconnect the wires to the igniter ,

Place your meter probes across the 2 wires from the control,

Program a bake cycle and set temperature.

In a few seconds you should have a reading of 110 to 120 VAC. on the wires from the control.

Reconnect wires,

Re program a bake cycle,

Within 60 seconds of the igniter starting to glow,

You should be able to read a minimum of 3.2 amps, with the ammeter clamped around one of the igniter wires,

Or, a minimum of 3.2 VAC across the terminals of the bake burner valve.

Low amperage draw, or low voltage at the bake burner valve, indicates a weak igniter, or low voltage from the control.

Since you've checked all your wiring, I'm guessing, a weak igniter out the box.

Another Quick easy check,

Be careful, don't damage anything...

Switch the igniters, Broil igniter to the bake burner, and vice versa.

If we have a weak igniter, the problem will appear at the broil burner and the bake burner should work.
