I need to repalace the bottom element of my electric oven. I thought I would simply be able to pull the bottom one out and insert the new one just like the stove top elements. However I was wrong. Upon pulling the old one out I realized the plugs within the range are not stationary, they are hooked to moveable wires. I managed to hook one side of the element in, but lost the other plug within the back of the oven. Not sure how to go about retrieving the plug?? Help, I need my oven for Thanksgiving as everyone is coming to my house!

Here is the parts brakdown so you can see how it is put together. Replacement parts for CROSLEY CE35400AAV Range - S/c F/s Ele | AppliancePartsPros.comGet a coat hanger or similar stiff wire, make a small hooh on the end and see if you can fish it back out. Make sure the unit is unplugged or the breaker is off (if hard wired). Often one side of the element is live even with the element turned off. If you cannot fish it out you will have to go in through the back. Looks like it may be a bit of a bear as they have 2 cover plates at the back. You may be able to snag it once the outside plate is off. |
