Whirlpool double oven

Model Number: GBD277PDS09 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years

My control board went bad; ordered new one. Turns out the old touch panel ribbon wire has 14 imbedded wires; the old control board matched with a 14 ribbon wire receptacle. But, the new control board has a 16 ribbon wire receptacle. Can anyone explain this?
We already checked and the new touch panels still have a 14 ribbon.

It took for me a few days to do some researches.

Have you tried to connect the new part and run the oven?

Per Whirlpool they have no reported problems and everything points to this part being correct.

Very well could be that the board works on other models where a 16 is needed.
