Hi, hope you can help.
The top oven is not working. The warmer is working but the control panel does not operate when I attempt to set the temp. I called in a service man yesterday and it took him 2 minutes to check and inform me that the control panel needed replacing, and that it would cost me between $400 and $500 to replace the panel. Can you please tell me the average price of a new control panel, and whether it would be a difficult task for the average do-it-yourselfer to tackle. Thanks in advance.

Here's the part. Two minutes sounds like a pretty quick diagnosis. If that is correct, the replacement cost you mentioned does not sound unreasonable. The part is shown "out of stock".
