Hi,
I have an old gas range ‘HARDWICK model# CK89642K C640R “
Cannot turn the oven ON
I hear no CLICK when I turn on the oven to start the igniter,
WHAT IS WRONG?

We need to know what kind of ignition is in your oven. Remove the oven floor and the flame spreader to see it. Post the result. If you can post pictures, it's even better.

Hi Gene, Here are the pictures of the Hardwick (Model #CK89642K C640R) ignator. Looks to me like a Regular pilot with Thermocoupling??? I hope that you can resolve this puzzle. Thanks, vsuboni vsuboni attached the following image(s):

If it does not click then the problem could be a bad ignition switch (under the oven temperature knob) or a bad spark module (under the top panel or on the back of the range). There are no diagrams available on-line for this old model and I can not give you more specific information.
The first thing I would do is find the ignition switch and bypass it. If it would click then the problem is the switch. If not, then it is the spark module.
If you can post pictures of the switch and the spark module then we probably can find a replacement parts.

Hi Gene, The bypass (the 2 blue wires) for the switch does not work. Here is the Module under the oven temp knob MADE by: Harper-Wyman #8148D (some other # on the module: 5394G 0001H 0C-010 141-99 ) I believe the switch and module is one piece. Thanks, vsubonvsuboni attached the following image(s):

The part on the picture is the oven thermostat. The shaft on the bottom of the picture is where the switch should be. The spark module is electric part without any tubes and a few wires connected to.

Hi Gene, I believe that this is the spark module. (See attached picture) The size is: 1.0625”x 1.640 x 0.375 The “OD” on the round piece is: 0.710” The embossed markings are: 125 VAC and 0.10 AMP with S-51 that could be the cavity number on the mold. [FONT='Times New Roman'] It is attached with 2 “blue” wires. I did jump the wires but no sound, no spark, nothing happened.[/FONT] vsuboni attached the following image(s):

Vasa,
The part on the last picture is the ignition switch which is probably good as far as you bypassed it and the ignition did not work. Most likely the problem is a bad spark module and you did not find it yet. That's why you have to "keep looking" for the spark module. Track these blue wires shown on the last picture.
