I have a GE cooktop that is 15+ years old and was installed before I bought house. I don't know the model #. I can send a pic. Can anyone help?

Nothing is wrong. Replacing it with a Jenn-Aire and will use the GE at my camp. Where do I send the pic?

New Orleans,

Try attaching the picture to your response,

We have quite a few technicians on the Forum, someone may recognize it and get back to you sooner.

Phil,

I'm sorry, I couldn't find any specific installation information in all my data.

I can only give you a general idea.

Most cooktops are held in place by gravity, in some cases, there are mounting brackets and mounting screws attached to the cabinet and the bottom of the cooktop.

In an extreme case the previous owner or installer may have glued it in

You may want to clear out the cabinet below the unit(or the oven in some cases) and check for the brackets(and the model/serial plate).

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
