Default Gas Build up
Model Number: RSG30   Brand: Dacor   Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Dacor RSG30 and when I use the oven I can sometimes smell gas - when I open the door I get a whoosh of gas/flame (like a back draft) - this does this on both regular oven use and convection.

I was told it was probably a faulty gas valve as I do not smell gas when the oven is not in use..

Any thoughts?

Default

if this range has gas broiler it is use during pre heat and would but your problem is delayed ignition of broiler when you open oven door you are pulling gas threw broiler tiles and its igniting chech to see if the broil ignitor is generating 3.5 amps if its only showing 2.9 to 3.2 the safty valve vill still open but will not let prorer gas flow in that case i would shange ignitor and its a lot cheeper than the saftey valve hope this helps
