Default oven stays warm when off

I have a Jenn Air wall oven Model W142. When it is turned off, the broiler element stays warm. The only way to completly cool the oven is to shut off the power to it. Is this a common problem and what would be the solution??

Mistert,

My best guess at this point would be a stuck broil relay or wire shorted to the broil element(on the back of the oven).

Part number: AP363639

Part number: AP363639

Is the element "red hot" or just warm ?

That will help to determine if it's a partial circuit(120 VAC) or a shorted switch in the controls(240 VAC).

In the mean time, we can try and find a diagram and cycle sequence for the unit.
