unable to access F1 sub fault codes

unable to access F1 sub fault codes

Model Number: 629.45779 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Kenmore drop-in range, model 629.45779, displaying a F1 code. Refering to the service information sheet I should be able to get to the sub codes by selecting bake slew down to 100 degrees on display and hold bake button for 3 secounds. Before I can get the temp select to 100 the F1 code comes back up negating the attemp to get the sub code.
Is this the fault of the ERC or the temp sensor failure?

If it won't go into the sub codes it's probably the ERC.
